Preview of Giants vs. Patriots @ MetLife Stadium this Sunday

Here we ago again, the New York Giants are playing the undefeated New England Patriots squad at MetLife stadium.  The outcome of this game is important but how well the Giants show up is even more important.  No one expects the Giants to win, even me, but whether or not they can handle a high powered offense and a solid defense is something we want to see.

In terms of team stats, here’s how they match up.

Offense

Patriots – 2nd

Giants -20th

Defense

Patriots – 8th

Giants – 32nd

On paper, this looks like a no brainer and the Patriots should be able to handle the Giants but with all of the said, I do believe that Giants have a shot in this game.  They would have to play their best football of the season to win this one.  The intangible is that the Giants are the only team that the Patriots struggle to beat on a consistent basis.

Here are keys to this game for the Giants to win:

1) Get pressure on Brady – if Giants can’t generate any pressure,we may be looking at another 52 point game!  Brady has too many weapons and with time he will find a target on every down.  This is a lot to ask of JPP but i hope he can chase Brady on a few plays or even get a sack or two.

2) Our secondary must have a great game – DRC needs to get at-least 1 pick for us.

3) Eli must be sharp and efficient and cannot turn the ball over.

4) Giants need control the game in terms of time of possession – so we need to run the ball well.

5) Beckham and Randle needs to have a huge game to keep up with the Patriots scoring.

I know this one will not be easy but I think the Giants will play a lot better than most expect them to.  My prediction is Patriots will win 27-23 over Giants.  I hope I am wrong and Giants can pull it out!  Go Blue!
